Summer 2011: Science Week

Our Preschoolers made homemade bubbles and bubble wands for science week! The toddlers made Lava Lamps with oil, water, and food coloring!

It is the first day of summer at Kids Can! The kids will have a great week learning about science with special visits to Kids Can with the CAPOW (Chemistry and Physics on Wheels) program from UNO and Miss Nebraska sharing her platform on Kids, Science, Education & a fun science experiment. We will be making volcanoes, slime and ice cream in a bag!

We have fun fieldtrips planned this week for our first week out of school to The Amazing Pizza Machine and CoCo Keys! Our Kids Can garden is being planted this week with tomatoes, peppers, carrots, squash, cucumbers and watermelons!

Join us this summer at Kids Can for weeks of Summer Fun! Each week is a different theme full of activities, arts & crafts, field trips, swimming & more!

Register by May 17th and we will receive our Registration Fee!

Where the Wild Things Are May 31st - June 3rd

A week dedicated to animals! Visit them at the Zoo, Wildlife Safari and more!

Kids Can Luncheon - May 3, 2011

Kids Can’s Annual Fundraiser Luncheon sponsored by Wells Fargo was a huge success, raising over $54,000 to support the Kids Can Community Center programs. Nearly 400 people attended the May 3 event which was held at the Downtown Doubletree. Highlights of the luncheon included the honoring of longtime community volunteer, Carol Russell who received this year’s Can Do Award for going above and beyond in her volunteer efforts for Kids Can and the community. Event honorary chairs Barb and Bill Fitzgerald presented Russell with the award.
