Sports, sports, sports!

‎Remember what it was like being a kid? Spending hours outdoors, playing football, baseball, soccer, and basketball? Sports and physical activity were a big part of being a kid. Now fast forward to today. Concerns about whether or not it is safe to let kids participate in such vigorous physical activities has led many parents to be content with allowing them to relegate these exciting sports to the world of video games. But a number of recent studies shows that common wisdom prevails: there are a ton of benefits that sports and physical activities hold for children of all ages (Check out the full article in the Parent Resources section of our website by clicking the link http://kidscanomaha.org/kidscanprograms/parentresources.aspx). So this summer encourage your kids to put down the video game controllers, get outside, and have fun!

We planted our garden today at Kids Can! Here are some pictures of our kids hands on in the dirt planting our vegetables! YUM!

It's our first week of summer here at Kids Can Community Center!

Our kids will enjoy their first week out of school with fun, friends and fieldtrips!

We are starting our garden on Tuesday by planting our vegetables!

We will be going bowling, roller skating and spending the day at Mahoney State Park! Special fieldtrip on Friday morning to Coco Keys to kick off the summer!
